Whetham House, Wiltshire (later Homme House, Herefordshire), England / Money-Kyrne family
For much of his life, William Money (1776-1848) was a relatively prosperous rural clergyman in the Wiltshire parish of Yatesbury. In 1808, his brother gave him a life interest in the 450 acre estate at Whetham House, which allowed him to live as a modestly prosperous country gentleman as well as a clergyman. His fortunes were transformed when he inherited, from his childless brother, Homme House in Herefordshire, together with an estate of about 4000 acres that generated an income of perhaps £5,900 per annum by the 1880s.
